AMI Moose Lodge Opening May 1st
Good morning members and friends.
GOOD NEWS!!
We are completing phase two. The Lodge Social Quarters and kitchen will be opening on May 1 at 11AM. There are a few restrictions that we have to adhere to in order to open the lodge for limited use. As many of you may know, we have a fence around the property to keep everyone safe and out of the construction area.
This restriction still exists because construction will continue in the dining room area.
What this means is: the parking lot, the patio and the service window will not be open for membership use. This also means that our normal occupancy is greatly reduced. We plan to have someone at the door counting heads and directing members. We do plan on utilizing the 2nd floor. The only access to this area will be through the front door. Use of the restrooms will be for Moose Members and their guests accompanied into the Lodge by the Moose Member. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MEMBERSHIP CARD TO A GUEST TO GET INTO THE LODGE, WE WILL CONFISCATE IT IF YOU DO. If you have a child, you must accompany them and bring your membership card with you.
The kitchen will be open with a new menu (yes, the wings will be available) with a few different items. Orders for food will be taken by the bartenders and delivered by our waitresses. If you order from the roof top bartender, it will be your responsibility to come down and request your order from the waitresses on duty when it is ready.
We will have our “membership office” open in the front hall.
Thank you all for “hanging-in” there with us!! Please be patient, we are doing our best during our construction phases!!
Fraternally,
Byron
AMI Lodge Update 04/08/25
Good Day to all!
It is time for another bunch of good news.
Debbie and I officially moved back into the office last Friday. As of yesterday (Monday), the air conditioners have been installed. We came in this morning, and it was very cold in the lodge. I even had the opportunity to mop up my office because someone forgot to connect the drain hose! Anyway, we are down to all the little things, like touching up all the paint, sealing the bar, bring in the dishware, silverware, paperware, etc! Since they are just as anxious as all of you to get our great lodge back open, the officers are going to be spearheading this chore. This includes a complete inventory and restocking of all the alcohol, beer, soft drinks and whatever else it takes to get the social quarters operating as best we can under the current conditions. There will be a few hiccups, but nothing that together we can’t “fix”.
We are hoping to have the social quarters and kitchen open by May 1st! Please do not ask to come into the lodge/office before we officially open because construction is still in process, and we do not have a Certificate of Occupancy (CO) yet.
One of the big hurdles will be the use of the parking lot. There will be a lot of vehicles associated with the construction crews and equipment that will be coming and going while Phase 3 (completing the dining room) is being worked on. Because of safety requirements we are not permitted to allow use of the parking lot to the public during this time. We are sorry, these are not our rules, this is required in order to get the permit(s). There will be a well-defined way to get into and out of the lodge. There will not be access into the lodge from the beach. The officers are making plans to possibly have “sales “in the lot.
There will be a different way that you will get your ordered food served/delivered.
We expect this will be simple, but you know the well-made plans of men/women and Moose always finds a way to muck it up. LOL!
One of the things that members keep asking about is the Queen drawing. Please know that this game will resume after the lodge gets into a regular routine. We have no firm date yet for when the Queen of Hearts drawing will continue.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE If you are not current with your moose dues KINDLY renew your Membership online before you come to the lodge.
Moose Intl Quick pay:
https://secure.mooseintl.org/QuickPay/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2fQuickPay%2f
We know that quite a few of you wait to come to the lodge to pay your dues, instead please send an email to [email protected] requesting help with your dues. We will get back to you within 24-48 hours of receiving your email (Monday-Friday). There is also a downloadable “Moose App” to expedite your membership being active and we can help you with this.
Please remember that if your dues are not active when the Queen of Hearts drawing resumes, you will not be eligible to collect anything.
We are looking forward to seeing all of our Friends very soon!!
Fraternally,
Byron
AMI Lodge Update 01/21/25
Good Day Moose members and friends,
We do hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. Being in good spirits and battling this strange weather is a tad odd! I almost thought we would be able to make snow men on the Island!
The road to recovery has been a long and bumpy “ride”. The officers have been meeting to make suggestions and decisions to get your Lodge back open. There have also been suggestions from you, the members, at the meetings that have been held at both the Bradenton and Palmetto Moose Lodges. The next get together/meeting is at The Bradenton Moose on 1-31-25 @ 2PM.
Things on the “rebuilding side” are looking up. We have found that we do not have to demo the north side (dining room) of the building. We will rebuild the sea wall and raise the roof. The support beams and west wall will be replaced. We will then be able to establish the inside. This of course will take some time but not as long as demoing and then rebuilding the north end.
The south side (Social Quarters) has been cleared of all of the sand and debris. The bar, restrooms and office have all been cleaned and sanitized. The electricity is in the process of being upgraded through the building. There are years of “adding” wires to the building that must be removed. Once this is completed, we can check on the following: coolers, refrigerators, freezers, A/C systems, computers, security, video and phone lines etc. Then we will have to replace the soft drink and beer distribution lines. These are just a few of the things that we are in the process of repairing/ upgrading so we can enjoy your company and smiling faces again!! I am sure that I may have missed a few things but it all will be taken care of.
I am not going to try and predict when we will be open, but we are hoping sooner than May!
We would like to thank all the members that have renewed their memberships and asked your friends and family to join our great Moose Fraternity. This helps the lodge two-fold. By paying your dues It helps the lodge support Mooseheart and Moosehaven (our main purpose) and of course the lodge itself.
On behalf of the officers,
THANKS FOR BEING MOOSE
Byron
AMI Lodge Update 01/07/25
Good afternoon Moose Members and Friends,
The holidays are over, and it is back to the grindstone. We had a few Lodge meetings at both the Bradenton and Palmetto Moose Lodges with a pretty good turnout for each one. Thank you for showing up. A special thank you to both Bradenton and Palmetto Moose Lodges for allowing us to utilize the space.
Unfortunately, when the meeting starts not all are present. This means some people miss the information that is talked about at the beginning, which leads to gossip or rumors about our Lodge status. Please try to make the future meetings.
Last Friday we met at the Bradenton Lodge and President Steve opened the meeting at 2pm. There were a lot of questions about the Lodge repairs. I explained that we are in a holding pattern because the insurance company is dragging their feet. After all the information was sent to them, they decided they needed their own engineer’s report. They are sending someone out in the next two to three weeks. I did protest, to no avail. Imagine that! This does not include any difficulties we may have with FEMA. There was a brief discussion about what has been accomplished in the meantime. I explained that Mike H. (the contractor) had a crew out there to remove the sand outside. He has lined up separate people to continue working on the Lodge while the Insurance Company settles with the Lodge.
Zach and Jamie have been working very hard cleaning up the inside and outside of the Lodge. A few things they have done included washing the floors, cleaning the shelving units and walk-in coolers, and shoveling the patio. This has resulted in saving the Lodge some of the cleaning fees. Not IF but WHEN you see them, please thank them for their hard work and dedication. There has been a plumber, carpenter and electrician in the building assessing what it is going to take to get the Lodge back open. The Lodge does expect to be open soon as we can. We want you back as bad as you want to come back!!

AMI Lodge Update 12/09/24
Hello Moose members and Friends,
Happy December!!! The good news this week is: We are starting to clean up the lodge parking lot. This will allow the contractor to put trailers and equipment there to get all of the junk/sand and anything not salvageable out of the building. There is where the “fun” starts!! What can we save??? What won’t smell like a sewer if we try to keep it?? How much of our equipment can be salvaged because of the salt? It will be interesting!!
The AMI Lodge get-together last Friday at the Bradenton Moose Lodge went very well. I know we had a few new members attending. There were some very good questions asked and together we were able to answer them!! Thank you all for coming and enjoying each other’s friendship and camaraderie.
Please remind your friends to pay their dues, in doing so you are still helping to support your Great Anna Maria Island Moose Lodge, Mooseheart, and Moosehaven. And also please keep in mind that your membership card is accepted in any Moose lodge in The United States, Canada and Great Britain. This is a great way to help us.
On behalf of the Lodge Officers and employees, please have a safe, fun and very Happy Holidays. We are looking forward to seeing all of you as soon as possible.
Thank you for being Moose.
Byron
AMI Lodge Update 11/20/24
Hello, Brothers and Sisters of the Moose, and Friends,
I am excited to share that the Board of Officers has received approval from Moose International for the first work Phases planned with our selected contractor to help put our lodge “back on the map.” We are now in the process of securing the necessary permits, which does involve some additional paperwork. If you haven’t been by the lodge recently, you’ll notice a fence has been installed to ensure everyone’s safety while work is ongoing. Phase one of the project is set to begin soon, and you should see changes to the landscape in the near future.
On behalf of the officers and myself, I’d like to thank everyone who has donated to the GoFundMe page for our employees. While this fundraiser is not administered by the lodge, we have met with the organizers and fully endorse it.
Additionally, we’ve set up a Zelle account to accept monetary donations directly to support the lodge. If you’d like to contribute, simply go to Zelle and use [email protected] to send your donation. It’s quick and easy—even I managed to do it! Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
Over the past month we have scheduled social gatherings at both Bradenton Moose and Palmetto Moose lodges, and the details were posted on Facebook. If you’d like to reconnect with your favorite bartenders, waitstaff, or fellow members—or just share your thoughts, suggestions, or thanks—please join us! Lodge officers will also be available to answer any questions you might have. The next meetup is this Friday, November 22, 2024, from 2-4pm at the Bradenton Moose Lodge.
Upcoming Event:
The Children’s Christmas Party is scheduled for December 14th, from 10 AM to 12 PM, and will be hosted at the Bradenton Moose Lodge. Please let us know how many children (under age 13) you’re bringing, along with their names, ages, and gender, by emailing the Lodge at [email protected] by December 4th. We’ll never turn a child away, but if Santa doesn’t have their details, he may not have the perfect gift ready for them—so please send in your information early!
Thank you all for your well wishes, support, and dedication to the Moose family.
Thanks for Being Moose!
Byron
AMI Lodge Update 11/13/24
Hello Moose members and Friends, we do hope this email finds you in great health and happiness!
Your Lodge Officers met on Monday evening to review the refined bids to start the cleaning and rebuilding of our great Lodge. After much discussion we decided on a contractor to do the work. We have one more hurdle to overcome, getting the contract reviewed by the Moose Intl Compliance Office. I do know that Moose Intl wants us back up and running again just as bad as you do!
The rebuilding of the lodge is going to be completed in three phases. When the first two are completed, we will be able to operate and have you and your guests come to enjoy your lodge again. Because of FEMA regulations we will not be able to start work on the north end for a year from the completion date of the second phase (social quarters). This is based on the FEMA “50% rule” for repairs.
The first phase is going to be the demo of the damaged section, clearing the debris and leveling the parking lot.
The second phase is cleaning, sanitizing and repairing the south (Social Quarters) end of the lodge. In this phase there, a wall will be built between the Social Quarters and the “dining room”. This will allow us to open the Social Quarters back up. We expect the Social Quarters will still accommodate the same number of members as before. We plan on serving the same quality of food, although the menu will be a tad smaller, because the kitchen will not be functioning yet. This phase will take approximately 9-12 weeks once started, depending on the availability of materials and any unforeseen problems. We will have our office back too!!
Phase three is going to take a little longer. For this side (dining room, kitchen, and membership office) we have been told that it may take every bit of 12 to 15 months to complete. Again, this is without any unknown/unforeseen problems. In this waiting period, we will have an architect draw up some plans/designs for the new dining area and kitchen.
We do appreciate all the donations made to both the employees Go Fund Me Page and the folks that are utilizing Zelle. THANK YOU!!
The Lodge has a temporary phone number, manned during business hours from 9AM until 6PM. Please do not call unless you have exhausted all other avenues for information. This number is (941) 779-5757. If you have a problem with your moose card or want to pay dues, please call (630) 906-3658, this is the Moose International help desk number. Please keep in mind that your Moose membership card will allow you to go to any Moose Lodge without question!! When visiting other Moose lodges, you will find that each Lodge has its own personality.
Many, many members have asked if they can help. The best way to help is to pay your dues and please consider signing up your friends or relatives.
If this email was forwarded to you from a friend, please consider signing up for our lodge emails. Please go to mooselodge2188.com “click” on the Resourses Tab, select Email sign up, and follow the instructions.
May God Blees you and keep you safe.

It is a great day in the neighborhood! Since many people have asked, we have enabled the use of ZELLE if you wish to make monetary donations to help support the AMI Moose Lodge.
Please go to Zelle and enter [email protected] and then follow the instructions. It is simple, even I did it!!
Thank you in advance for all your well wishes and donations,

AMI Lodge Update 10/30/24
October 30, 2024
Good afternoon, members and friends, time for another update!
The Board of Officers met again this week, and it was a great meeting.
Barry Grooms is a member and friend and has been in the realty and building industry all his life. He has offered his time and expertise to guide us in making the right choices. There was a tremendous amount of information “disseminated” in the meeting. With all the information that was given to us we, the board of officers, requested more legal and defined contractual information regarding FEMA, insurance, dispensations from Moose Intl and permits. This may take approximately 2 more weeks before we can make an intelligent decision. Once the decision is made about who to hire, we do believe the work is going to be a two-stage process.
The first stage is securing the north side (dining room) to make it safe. We can then proceed to clean up, sanitize, and rebuild the bar on the southside (Social Quarters) and hopefully get the permits to reopen. Rebuilding the Social Quarters will take somewhere between 6 to 8 weeks. This also depends on the availability of both labor and materials. I do not need to say that we are not the only ones trying to reopen.
As we understand it, because of FEMA 50/50 Rules/Laws we may have to wait a year before we are eligible/allowed to rebuild the dining room. Again, this also depends on the availability of both labor and materials. We were told this rebuild could take as long as a year, but this is not written in stone! We have been told things can change in a heartbeat. We will keep you up to date.
We know many of you want to help bring back our lodge, but due to safety concerns we ask you to stay clear of the lodge. We are putting up fences to protect people that are just too curious!! However, I cannot take credit for the next statement. It came from our Territory Manager Bob Saindon, he said “If your members wish to help, ask them to be sure and pay their dues”. That is a great idea, Christmas is right around the corner, membership is a great present!! A request from our officers is, please do not transfer your membership. Your card is welcome in any Moose Home, and you will still be a member of the biggest, and in our opinion, the Best Moose Lodge!!
Thank you so very much for all the donations that you have been sending in. Please know that all monies utilized will be done so with the approval of the Board of Officers and will be documented to the penny!
To all the grandparents and parents that brought your children to the Halloween Party. Thank you. A great time was had by all!! Frankenstein (Tristan) and the Joker (Zach) are still talking about it!!
On behalf of the
Officers of both the Lodge and the Chapter, THANK YOU for being MOOSE MEMBERS. We do miss you!
Lodge Update 10/24
October 24, 2024
Hello Moose members and Friends,
We do hope this finds all of you in good health and great spirits. There have been a few of us that have suffered losses from the hurricanes. Please know that we are keeping you in our prayers for a fast recovery.
Many of you asked where to send checks or money orders to help your lodge recover. We have gone to the Post office and got a separate PO Box to send your donations to. The address is: Anna Maria Moose 2188 P.O. Box 58, Cortez, Florida 34215. If you wish to do an electronic transfer, please send an email to the lodge email ([email protected]) and we will respond individually with instructions for how to do it.
Many, many more have asked what you can do to help. We do appreciate your desire to help, and we do not wish to turn offers down, but the lodge is too unstable in sections. The upcoming work requires professionals to do the job safely. Please stay clear of the lodge. We do not want anyone to get hurt!!
There will be more information coming soon.
Fraternally,
Byron
Lodge Update Milton
October 17,2024
Hello Moose members and Friends.
It has now been a few weeks since we had a visit from Hurricane Helene and her side kick Hurricane Milton! I do hope that all of you are faring well and recovering from this devastating mess.
Please know that the Lodge officers, office staff and I are doing our very best to get the AMI Lodge back to operating condition. We have been in contact with numerous companies and are in the process of finding the very best. We are also in touch with the insurance and construction companies on a regular basis.
Not to keep YOU waiting, here are just a few of the problems we must overcome. There is no one thing that is worse than the other (other than not seeing all of again and being open to serve you and your guests). The northwest side of the dining room does not have a wall anymore. It was destroyed by Helene and Milton. It was literally pushed through the inside east wall into the Membership office. One of the structural roof supports was also damaged. We were advised by the engineer to NOT GO into that part of the lodge for any reason!!! We found tables, chairs, cash registers, and POS systems among a few things in the parking lot buried in sand and sea water. This does not include the 2-3 feet of sand that was deposited throughout the lodge, EVERYWHERE!! The parking lot has been destroyed. There are big holes where the pavers used to be. Yes, there will be a change in the parking lot layout. (We are going to rent a forklift and pile all the cars on each other as you come in!! JUST KIDDING. Sometimes you have to make light of a disaster to get through it.)
Today, I have heard rumors that your lodge will not be open for two years!! Can you believe it! Let me put it to you this way, Rumors are BULL SH!T and lies made up by people that have to have something to say to make themselves look important! If you have not read it from the AMI website (Mooselodge2188.com) or the lodge email, then it may not be true! You can have your friends sign up for emails on the website. Click on resources and then click on emails. Rumors only waste time. We are aware that we do not have a place to meet (membership meetings) to update you the members. We will keep you up to date when we have information to pass on. You have my word on this.
There have been rumors about the Queen of Hearts, AGAIN! Please know that when the Lodge is rebuilt the Queen of Hearts will resume where it left off. We would like to thank those of you that “suggested” the Lodge use the Queen of Hearts money to help with the restoration or to assist members in need. The Lodge officers have decided that the best route is to just continue the game when we reopen.
The Lodge officers, staff and I do miss you. Please be safe and God Bless All of you.
Fraternally,
Byron
AMI Moose Lodge Hurricane Helene Update
September 29,2024
Hello Moose Members and Friends,
It has been a very busy year. The Lodge replaced the dining room floor and repainted the Social Quarters and Dining Room. We made some adjustments in manpower and the menus. Very shortly you will be seeing more construction on the lodge. We are replacing all the old hurricane shutters to protect the lodge.
Your Past President, Patrick Kane has earned The Lodge Leadership Award of Excellence. Patrick and the lodge board of officers have worked very hard to make sure Your lodge has received The Lodge Premiere Award for the fourth time in a row! Our current President Steve B. and the board of officers are now working to accomplish and surpass the lodge goals.
This email was started Monday and things have changed “just a bit”!!!!
The Lodge officers, Women of the Moose officers, the staff, employees, volunteers and I wish to THANK all of you, for the well wishes that you have taken the time to send on Facebook, by email and in texts to us. We do appreciate all of you and will do our very best to get your lodge back open as soon as we can.
For those of you that have not seen any of the pictures, the west wall (dining room section) is gone. The furniture is “piled up” in various parts of the social quarters, kitchen, front hallway and in the membership office. We have not been able to “review” all the damage yet. We were allowed a short period of time to collect what we believed to be essential to get the ball rolling for our next step: to be up and running for our members.
We will do our best to keep everyone updated. Please do not follow rumors or believe everything you read on other Facebook pages. The lodge will notify you by email, our website (mooselodge2188.com) or our Lodge Facebook page with updates.
For those that expressed concern about the Queen drawing, please know that the Queen money is STILL the Queen money!! When the Lodge is back up and running “full steam” the Queen of Hearts game will resume. For those of you that suggested that the lodge utilize the current pot, thank you for your kind and giving thoughts.
Thank all of you for your kind thoughts and well wishes!! Your AMI Lodge is more than a business, it is a home away from home where all our friends come to meet and have fun!! We miss you already and are looking forward to seeing all of you in as short a period as possible.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Byron
AMI Lodge Update from Byron
2/19/2024
Good afternoon,
Moose members and Friends.
We have an election coming up on April 9, 2024, for the Lodge Officers. We will be accepting requests to be put on the ballot for the following offices: President, Vice president, Chaplain, Treasurer, 1st, and 2nd year Trustees. The blank request form, to be considered for a position on the election ballot, is available in the Lodge office and the Membership office. Requests to be put on the ballot will be taken through March 14, 2024, until the close of business hours of the Membership Office, 7PM. If you have any questions about the election, please feel free to ask our administrator or check out The General Laws sec 33.
It appears to be that time of the year when we (the Lodge) have to remind our members about a few things at the Lodge.
1) DO NOT give your membership card to anyone, including your spouse, to get into the lodge. If you are on the beach and he or she needs to come in to use the facilities, come in with him/her.
2) If you have guests DO NOT give your card to them to utilize the lodge. They CANNOT purchase anything; they are not members of the Moose!! They have no business in the lodge alone unless it is to fill out an application for membership.
3) The gentlemen that we have working in the parking lot are not there to take your abuse just because you don’t like being told to follow the rules for the parking lot. They are there to control parking and traffic through the lot. This includes making sure that people in the lot are patronizing the Anna Maria Island Moose Lodge not another business up the street. If you are “caught” leaving your car in the lot and going some place else, your vehicle WILL BE TOWED.
4) Members’ guests are not entitled to park in the parking lot, unless the member is riding in the vehicle.
The 5th Annual Pig Roast is coming up very quickly...5 DAYS!!!! We do have a few tickets still available to come and enjoy some great food by Jimmy’s “PIG OUT” restaurant and two great bands. There are going to be a few vendors including the Chamber of Commerce. You have heard me mention Luca Racing. Luca is a young man that has taken on youth racing. Your lodge has been sponsoring him and he is doing very well. He will be here for the pig roast and is bringing at least one of his race cars. Please don’t forget your beach chairs and sunscreen!
The Easter Bunny’s visit is just around the corner on March 23rd. The Lodge will have a sign-up sheet by the front office. Please know that the list will not be available until the Monday after the Pig Roast. This is so the lodge knows how many children will be joining us. We ask that the children only bring two adults with them, this allows more room for more children. There will be goodies for breakfast, handouts, games and pictures with the Easter Bunny and our famous Easter Egg Hunt!!
Just a quick reminder, we have an Orientation every 4th Thursday of the month at 6PM. We have had to cancel a few for unexpected reasons. But I will be here this Thursday, on the February 22nd. I am looking forward to seeing you here with your questions and ideas to help make your lodge even better than it already is!
Be Safe, Byron
Lodge Weekend Schedule
Hello AMI Moose members,
The Lodge has a few changes to operational and kitchen hours for the weekend ahead.
Tonight, Friday, the traditional Friday Night Dinner starts at 4:30pm and ends at 7:30pm. Please bring your Moose card and your patience to the Lodge during this time, as it is a popular meal.
On Saturday the kitchen will be serving a limited menu from Noon until 3pm. It will then close for 90 minutes for dinner prep. The Lodge’s Valentine’s Dinner begins at 4:30pm until the filet mignon and grouper run out. No tickets are needed and no reservations can be made. Steve Rosenbeck will be playing music starting at 7pm on the beach patio.
On Sunday the Lodge will open at Noon, due to the Moose District meeting happening earlier in the Lodge. We will not be hosting a Super Bowl party, though the game will be playing on the televisions.
Thank you,
Ami Moose Lodge 2188
AMI Lodge Member Orientation Date Change
Hello Moose members.
Our normal orientations take place on the 4th Thursday of every month at 6PM.
We are going to change our orientation night this month. The reason for this short notice is we have an opportunity to have two wonderful members of the Moose Fraternity that will be visiting our great lodge, on January 15th and 16th.
Our guests will be Harry Johnston and his wife Sandy Johnston. Harry is a Past Supreme Governor of the order (the highest elected office of the Moose) and is currently serving as the President of the Mooseheart Board of Officers. Sandy has been through all of the chairs for the Women of the Moose. Sandy is the first female elected to the Moose International Board of Directors in the 133-year history of the Moose Fraternity!!
The orientation will be on Tuesday the 16th of January at 6PM.
I often state, “I know the mind can only absorb what the butt can handle”. Our orientation is not comprised of slides and movies. It is our way of sharing with you why your Moose Lodge does what it does, and what we don’t or aren’t allowed to do, because of your lodge being a 501-C-8. We will simply be sharing information and answering questions about The Great Fraternity we belong to.
Looking forward to seeing you here!
Fraternally,
Byron

AMI Lodge Update From Byron
Hi all,
The AMI Moose Lodge officers wish all of you a happy and fun holiday season!
The Lodge Children’s party was a great success, with the exception of the weather. I would like to thank all of the Members that helped put smiles on our children’s faces. And just as important, thank you to the Moose Members that were able to bring their children and grandchildren to visit with Santa, Rudolph and their helpers.
Just a reminder: the AMI Moose Lodge will not be open on Christmas Eve 12/24 or Christmas Day 12/25.
We will be open on New Years Eve 12/31, nothing special is happening, and on New Years Day 01/01.
Lodge hours on both days will be from 11am to 10PM.
Starting this Friday, December 22nd, our Special Dinner returns with Prime Rib, Baby Back Ribs, Red Snapper and Chicken Breast meals. First orders will be taken at 4:30pm through 7:30pm, unless we run out of food before then. We will be running a “Split the Pot” drawing on Friday nights, starting at 4:30pm and drawing a winner at 6:30pm. You do not need to be in the Lodge to win. We will contact the winner.
Tickets for our Lodge Queen of Hearts drawing will start on Monday, January 1, 2024 at 11am. The first drawing will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 7pm and every Wednesday until the Queen of Hearts is found, baring any unexpected incidents that would close the Lodge on that day.
Please watch for information coming soon about the Pig Roast in February.
Fraternally,
Byron

Help Needed at the AMI Moose Lodge
CALLING all Moose members and Friends,
The lodge will be in need of your help on December 2, 2023.
On this day at 10:00 am we will be moving all of the tables, chairs, counters, and anything else that is not nailed or screwed to the floor and some things from the walls into two portable trailers.
We are doing this because the final “cover” for the floor will be applied on December 4th and completed by December 10th.
We also ask that you come back on Dec 11th at 10:00 am to unload the trailers.
This will allow us to reopen the lodge on December 13, 2023 (on time).
Your help will be greatly appreciated. There are large and small things that will need to be moved, so we would appreciate all the help we can get.
I am going to plagiarize a great saying!
“It is not what the lodge can do for you but what you can do for the lodge.”
Please remember, when we work together, playing together is much more fun!
Fraternally,
Byron

Children’s Halloween party
Good afternoon, Moose members and Friends.
We hope everyone is doing well.
Just a quick update about the Children’s Halloween party. Be advised that the Anna Maria Island Moose Lodge Children’s Halloween Party IS NOT, I repeat IS NOT, being held at the Sarasota Moose Lodge. The AMI Lodge is planning a Children’s Halloween party to be held at the Bradenton Moose Lodge at 310 44th Ave. Bradenton, FL. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 between the hours of 10AM and 12PM. There will be “goodie bags“, Ghoulish (chicken) fingers and fries, juice boxes, music, and games. There will also be a costume contest! We will have a sign-up sheet at the AMI Moose Lodge for you to sign your children up, so we have an idea of how many children will be in attendance.
The Lodge will have the date for the Christmas party posted very soon, and a sign-up sheet available for you to put your children and their ages on. The ages for Santa to shop for are 12 years old and younger.
Some of you may not be aware of the construction that we are expecting to take place soon to replace the dining room floor. We are not sure when we will be able to start and exactly how long it will take (we are estimating approximately 4 weeks). For those of you that think we waited to do this during “In Season” you are gravely mistaken. We have been working on this for 6 or more weeks to get this accomplished and the construction requires a lot of planning and paperwork.
Thank you for your patience.
Byron

Queen Of Hearts Results
Results from the queen of hearts drawing drawing august 16th, 2023
Ticket #1286665 was drawn from the tumbler and envelope #35 was selected which contained the Queen of Hearts!
The winner was not present but received a phone call with the great news.
We had fourteen other winners who received $1,000.00 each. Many winners were present, the rest were called.
Split the pot sales were $9,050.00. The winner received $4,525.00 and $4,525.00 will go to moose charities.
The nine o'clock ceremony was conducted and your generous donations of $627.00 were collected. These funds go to the moose charities endowment fund which benefits the children at mooseheart and the seniors at moosehaven.
Thank you for your donations and for your participation in our queen of hearts raffle.
Stay tuned for when the next queen of hearts game will begin.
Queen of Hearts Draw Down Rules
Good afternoon Moose members,
We do hope this email finds you all in good health and spirits.
As the majority of you are aware, when the current Queen of Hearts game was started, the Lodge issued a statement that the pot would be capped at $250.00.00. And we would notify you as early as we could, simply because we can’t predict when the pot would be that high. The current pot is $208,251.00, so we expect the pot will be at $250K within the next few weeks.
If we have a Queen draw down the agenda will be as follows:
• The deck of cards drawings (Moose Legion) will be run.
• The Nine O’clock Ceremony will be performed, and donations collected.
• The Split the Pot drawing will follow, you do not need to be present to win.
• The Draw Down will begin at 7PM, give or take a minute. You do not need to be present to win. One ticket will be drawn at a time. This will be done by our police liaison officer. If the first envelope contains the Queen, then that person will win the current pot, less 25% due to taxes. They will be required to fill out a W-9. If it is not the Queen, that person will receive a $1,000.00 consolation prize and will sign a W-9, before receiving a check for that amount. If a ticket is drawn of an already selected envelope, that ticket is discarded, and no consolation prize will be given. This process will continue until the Queen is found.
The next Queen of Hearts game will be announced at a later date.
Good luck to all. Thank you for being a Moose and participating.
