AMI Moose Lodge 5/21/2026
Hello members and friends.
It has been a while and a very busy time. Effective May 1st, the lodge has a few new board members. Kip A. is the new President, Steve B is the Jr. Past President, Terry F. is the new vice president, E J Casali is the Chaplin, Jack Hale is the new Treasurer, Barry B. is the 1st Yr. Trustee, James Walter is the 2nd Yr. Trustee, Carl Spradlin is the 3Yr. Trustee.
The Women of the Moose have a new board of Officers also. The new Sr. Regent is Julie L., The Jr. Regent is Bonnie D., Treasurer is Ann G. and co-secretaries are Jennifer M. and Jenny N., and Guide Vickie D.
I would like to take this time to thank all the officers that have been in their respective offices for the last three years (because of the hurricanes). When the hurricanes hit us, Moose International requested that the current board stay in place to streamline the rebuilding of your lodge. They did, and their efforts with your help paid off! If you see them, please take the time to thank them for giving their time to keep your lodge #1. Do not be afraid to approach them and make suggestions or new ideas. Please remember that you can also come to the lodge meetings on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month @ 7PM.
Your lodge finished #1 in membership building. Because of your belief in the Moose and all that it stands for we finished with 20570 members!! This doesn’t include all the charitable monies that were donated in your Moose lodge’s name because of your caring and giving attitude. And just as important are all of our volunteers that donate their time to help work/run lodge events. We can’t do it without you!
If you are interested in volunteering, please send an email to the lodge with your contact information and will gladly return your call. The lodge email is [email protected]. We are looking forward to hearing from you. If you are interested in volunteering, please send an email to the lodge with your contact information and will gladly return your call. Good afternoon members and friends.
It appears all of you have survived the cold weather!
A quick reminder. The Pig Roast tickets are on sale now! The event is on March 7th Starting at noon and going on all day! The 1st “seating” starts at noon, the 2nd seating starts at 2PM and the 3rd seating starts at 4PM. This great annual event is being catered by PIG OUT BBQ!! The tickets are $20.00 per person so please come in and get them. A couple of the time frames are going quickly. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE EVENT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! SO, BRING YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN. Show them how much fun it is to be a Moose member. We are also having entertainment on the patio, and you will be able to hear them inside, upstairs and on the beach! Bring your chairs and blankets and your best dance moves!!
On Sunday March 8th your lodge is hosting the local district of lodges. For this reason, we will not be open until 1PM instead of 11AM. As an active moose member, you are more than welcome to attend this meeting. You will meet members from as “far away” as Ruskin Moose and as close as Bradenton Moose. Take a chance and come to the meeting, you may make a new friend or two.
On March 28th we are having the Children’s Easter party. It starts at 10AM and will run until 12 PM (give or take a minute). Please come to the lodge to register so we know how much breakfast and candy the Easter Bunny needs to bring. OH Yah!! The Easter bunny will be here for pictures with your children and grandchildren. I do believe the Easter Bunny will pose with one or two adults (if you are not shy) also.
Please keep in mind that the lodge meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7PM. Come in and join us, maybe make suggestions for improving our lodge. We do appreciate constructive ideas. Ladies, please know that you are invited to come to the meetings also, if you are an active member of the lodge.
The lodge elections are coming up very quickly. There will be another email very soon with explicit instructions where and when you may pick up a request to be interviewed for consideration to be put on the ballet as an officer for next year. There are certain requirements for different officers’ positions.
Be Safe, Byron

The children’s Easter party will be on March 28th from 10AM until 12PM at the Lodge. The age group for the party is 12 and under. There will be a sign-up sheet at the front door to sign-up your children or grandchildren if you are certain they will attend. (The Christmas party sign-up sheet was a joke for some members. There were 24 children signed up who did not attend the party.) The Easter Bunny will be there to say hi and to take pictures with you!! And of course, the Easter Egg hunt on the Beach!!
Our Annual Pig Roast will be held on March 7th this year. Jimmy’s Pig Out will be serving their amazing food. There is going to be a little change in the menu that we believe you will love. We will also have some amazing entertainment starting at approx. 3PM and going until 10ish, on the beach!! Tickets will be going on sale shortly. Don’t forget your chairs and blankets!
THE FOLLOWING IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!
As you all know the Moose is a private Fraternal Organization and it exists to support Mooseheart, Moosehaven and local communities in numerous ways. We are a 501(c)(😎, Not-for-Profit Organization. This means we CANNOT serve non-members ANYTHING! This includes not allowing a non-member to use your card for any reason, including use of the “Lodge facilities”. There is always someone trying to circumvent the rules. This week there were two people that weren’t members (who did not know they were doing anything wrong because the members omitted the truth) who tried to use a member’s card at the Lodge. Starting immediately, Lodge personnel may ask to see additional identification if they do not recognize or know you. We are sorry that we must do this. The officers are sworn to protect the Lodge and support our children at Mooseheart, our seniors at Moosehaven and the local community. Our employees could lose their positions if they aren’t diligent. This is very serious!
Please do not be offended if you are asked for an ID along with your Moose card. The officers and employees are doing our best to keep your Lodge a special place to visit and enjoy. We are just shy of 19000 members! This is because you believe in your Lodge and sign-up your family and friends as Members.
THANK YOU!
If you have any questions or concerns, please come to a meeting on the 2nd or 4th Tuesdays @ 7PM. Or come to an orientation on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6PM. All meetings are held in the dining room.
Fraternally,
Byron
